FEEL-GOOD FICTION

Karen is an aspiring author.

Her traineeship included multiple writing courses and a gazillion hours editing short stories now proudly dotted on websites around the world.

Karen has recently finished writing her first novel about a spirited young woman and an old property mogul whose lives entwine when they unexpectedly find themselves back in their old hometown. It is a cosy slice-of-life story set in a beautiful little (fictional) seaside town in Australia’s north-west.

While awaiting response to her novel from traditional publishers, Karen is working on several other writing projects, including an African island series (a lifelong fixture in her imagination) and an integrated collection of short stories set along a bustling boardwalk.

Your happy holiday read!

Karen was born on a tea estate in Nandi Hills – the cradle land of Kenyan long-distance running. Although she didn’t inherit the Nandi legs, the African savannah and endless summer holidays at the coast, rendered a magical childhood.

Boarding school at the age of six sparked a small hiccup in her idyllic life but also ignited a wonderful imagination. When she felt a little melancholy, she would slip away into her own enchanted world and re-emerge when the sun came out.

Karen now lives in Western Australia, enjoying life by the beach with her wonderful husband and Bonnie the dog. If she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking tea or sharing a bottle of wine.
